Electron beam hardening (EB hardening)

Electron beam hardening is a partial thermal surface layer process with possible hardness of 66 HRC and hardness depths between 0,3 and 1,5 mm. The principle is a concentrated and temporary heat input at the work piece surface at temperatures below the melting point of the base material. The necessary quenching process for hardening is made by heat conduction into deeper work piece zones.
